Specialization in Neurology and Experimental Neuroscience Research on Neuronal Hypoxia at University Hospital Charité Berlin (GER) (2001-2007). Attending, PhD, Professorship, Section Director for Acute and Critical Care Neurology at University Hospital Heidelberg (GER) (2008-2016). Chairman of Neurology with Comprehensive Stroke center and Neuromuscular Network Coordination at Klinikum Kassel, Campus Hospital of the University of Southampton, Kassel (GER) (2017-2022). Currently Adjunct Professor, Neurology Faculty at Johns Hopkins University Hospital (USA) and Immediate Past President of the German Neurocritical Care Society (DGNI). Several other medical society positions and memberships (e.g. DGN, DGNL, DSG, DIVI, NCS, ESO).
