Miriam Camacho Stokes

Biography
Miriam has over a decade of experience in Emergency/Trauma Nursing and clinical education where she started her career as an RN. Her dedication to advancing healthcare through education and practice led her to obtain a master's degree from Duke University as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. For the past three years, she has found her niche in Neurocritical care at UNC Medical Center, where she blends expertise with compassion to manage complex cases. As a Simulation-Based Learning Facilitator, she fosters critical thinking in young clinicians. She is pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at East Carolina University, focusing on ICU delirium in patients with neurological diseases. Miriam champions advocacy efforts to enhance patient education, promote health equity, and address health disparities, placing these principles at the forefront of her professional endeavors.
