Biography
Somewhere between the Beatles and Madonna, Professor Olson started his nursing career in Iowa. After 10 of the coldest winters you can imagine, he moved to North Carolina, warmed up and got a PhD from UNC-Chapel Hill while working at Duke University as an ICU nurse. In 2012 he surprised even himself and moved to Dallas Texas. With research focused on developing a deeper understanding of how nursing care contributes to patient outcomes following acute brain injury, he has over 400 publications, Thanks to a very supportive spouse, he spends the remainder of each 24 hours as the co-chair for the Curing Coma Campaign and the Editor for the Journal of Neuroscience Nursing.
