Sherif Hanafy Mahmoud
Biography
Dr. Sherif Hanafy Mahmoud, BSc(Pharm), MSc,PhD,FNCS is a clinical professor and Associate Dean, Academic at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Alberta, Canada. He is a neurocritical care pharmacist at the University of Alberta Hospital. He has been involved in pharmacy practice for more than 20 years. Dr.Mahmoud’s research areas include neurocritical care pharmacotherapy. Dr.Mahmoud studies how neurological injury and other patient factors alter the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs, an important avenue for personalized pharmacotherapy. Dr. Mahmoud is actively involved with the Neurocritical Care Society committees including the research and pharmacy leadership committees. Dr. Mahmoud received numerous accolades. Dr. Mahmoud was named the 2024 Canadian Pharmacist of the Year by the Canadian Pharmacists Association, the highest honor to be received by a Canadian Pharmacist. In addition, he was inducted as the Fellow of the Neurocritical Care Society and received several Presidential Citations for his outstanding service.
