Jamie Nicole LaBuzetta

Biography
Dr. Jamie LaBuzetta is an internationally trained clinician researcher. She completed her postgraduate study in Neuroscience at both Oxford and Cambridge universities, followed by residency at MGH and Brigham. She returned to San Diego to complete her Neurocritical Care fellowship, and remained on faculty at UC San Diego in the Department of Neurosciences. Since joining the UCSD faculty her research has focused on Post-intensive Care Syndrome, especially in older adults and vulnerable patients in the neurological ICU. Her overall research focus is on reducing short- and long-term cognitive dysfunction following critical illness by modulating risk factors such as sleep disruption, with the ultimate aim of improving outcomes in patients with acute brain injury.
