 h the noble intention to serve others, it is perhaps paradoxical to see th
 at their intention extends primarily to the patients and families. But for
  some, not to their peers or other healthcare professionals.   \n\nIncivil
 ity in the workplace is not always obvious and can often take the form of 
 subtle harmless gestures. Eye rolling, sarcasm, rumors, delay in respondin
 g to emails, can progress to more overt actions including undermining prof
 essional integrity, exclusion from opportunities, or withholding pertinent
  information is not uncommon in the workplace. \n\nDisruptive behaviors ca
 n foster medical errors, contribute to poor patient satisfaction, increase
  cost of care, and cause qualified clinicians to seek new positions. Obtai
